Wo bist du
A modern fairytale for adults

After a hundred years of sleep Sleeping Beauty awakes. Her family has died, her prince is nowhere around and she doesn't know what to do with her life.

In the original fairytale the spell comes out. After a hundred years the castle is filled with roses and the prince kisses Sleeping Beauty. She awakes, and the spell of the evil Queen becomes invalid. In this modern and recent version of the fairytale WO BIST DU everything is different: Sleeping Beauty, in this version three of them, got old. All the habitants of the palace are dead. It doesn't get any better when the prince makes his entrance. The prince is a robot, made of old iron, the peak of masculinity. Unfortunately, this mechanized man can only do three things: turn his hips, nod his head to say yes and kiss. The three Sleeping Beauty's eliminate this robot prince and create their own search for their identities. Determined to live not happily ever after, they'll do anything to get rid of their fairytale image!

In contrast to real life where you always have to make choices, there isn't any doubt about the right choice in fairytales. It's a safe world, where everything happens according to the predictable rules and patterns. In WO BIST DU the Sleeping Beauty's leave this world and get into a world of life, lust and freedom. In WO BIST DU Dagmar Chittka (formerly Lieber Gorilla) combines her powers with those of the dancers Caroline Bon and Katjoesja Siccama. They worked with each other before during the production of Salto Mortale. WO BIST DU characterises itself by lyrical and theatrical images, physical honesty and absurdity. 'Wo Bist du' is full of melancholy and humour and is raw and tenderly at the same time.
